Once associated to Mademoiselle, the name Coco is now followed by Rocha. Coco Rocha, dancer, mother, and model extraordinaire changed the fashion industry, adorning the world’s best-known magazines with her stunning gaze and striking looks. Now, Montreal’s very own Rockland is home to the first exhibition dedicated to Rocha’s career.
From her beginnings as a dancer to her 15 years of experience in the modeling agency, every aspect of Coco’s mesmerizing career can be relived at the exhibition room in the Centre Rockland. Lovers of fashion are invited to experience this ever-changing industry through old and new photographs, a detailed timeline, and a collection of every magazine that Rocha was photographed for, from Vogue to Harper’s Bazaar.
On top of being a mother, a dancer, a model and overall phenomenal woman, Coco is also an author. Her book A Study of Pose is full of stunning photographs that reveal her past as a dancer, and visitors are invited to take a closer glance at the shots. An entire wall in the gallery is dedicated to images of a beautiful Coco’s captivating poses. This exhibit, home of a millennial pink Coco Rocha bust created by Rootstein and surrounded by mirrors, is perfect place to experience fashion in a tangible way.
Coco Rocha curated a fashion exhibition collaboration with Rockland, featuring up-and-coming local models and brands such as Marciano, Maska, Cabinet Éphémère, Rudsak and more. Models stunned under Rocha’s supervision and artistic direction, and all the looks are available to be purchased by the public. What better way to celebrate Spring’17?
