Montreal foodies will be rejoiced to find out that the iconic Cacao 70 has recently opened a factory in the heart of Griffintown. From DIY chocolate bars to behind-the-scenes access, the Cacao 70 factory is a delight for lovers of chocolate.
Since its opening in 2011, Cacao 70 has conquered the hearts of foodies everywhere across the country. Offering an array of chocolate covered sweets, decadent drinks, and even products to-go, the chocolate paradise combines the classic dessert with a touch of luxury. With over 12 locations across Canada, the local chain aims to bring unique and quality products to chocoholics everywhere.
Designed by the renowned Zébulon Perron and directed by master chocolatier Van Hien Dao and head chocolate maker Gaiia Kim, the chocolate experience starts with a tour of the facilities of the Cacao 70 Factory located in Griffintown. After breathing in the decadent aroma, feel free to ask a chocolate expert about their machinery and about the process of creation of their new chocolate bars. Speaking of chocolate bars, you are invited to hand-make one yourself – and you get to keep it!
The Factory also includes an exquisite café area. With its high ceilings and floral embellishment, make sure to take a photo for the ‘gram. The menu includes Cacao 70’s bestsellers, from their beloved coffees to their salted caramel fraps, and naturally, their iconic hot chocolates. Visitors are welcomed to enjoy a nice talk over happiness in a mug.
Chocolate delicacies are of course offered on site, with matcha and earl gray fondues and breakfast croissants served among other treats. Enjoying an exclusive look inside a world of chocolate while eating chocolate? Now that’s a real treat.
